Needed Materials: None
Rules:
- Set a time whereby children and a supervising adult search outdoors for natural
objects.
- When a satisfactory amount of objects have been found, instruct children (or
child) to utilize the ground (be it grass, dirt, or snow) as their canvas.
- Children should begin to design a piece of artwork utilizing the items they
collected.
- The art can be abstract, impressionistic, or sculptural in design. Glue or other similar craft materials are not to be used for this activity.
- If multiple children are taking part, an art tour can be given at the end of the
activity where the children each tour the different works of art allowing them
to explain their design and materials used to create their work of art. If just one child is participating, this can also be done with the parent. If child is younger, the adult can simply have the child identify the names of
the objects that make up their design.
